Travel Inspiration
As the title suggests, you’ve got two great options to start with.
First, I would suggest figuring out whether you’d prefer to do something outdoorsy or something in a city.
They both, of course, have their pros and cons and we’ll talk about those.
And, I’m sure, you already have a preference in mind.
So, let’s get started.
Outdoors
Are you the type of person who likes to be outside?
Do you love nature, hiking, being on the water?
Then an outdoorsy adventure is for you.
You’ve got so many different options.
You can find a great park that has some awesome trails to hike.
How about finding an awesome beach that’ll give you the opportunity to swim, surf, paddleboard, or maybe snorkel/scuba dive?
Or maybe going into the mountains and camping under the moonlight.
Listening to nature and getting all that fresh air.
Pros
Getting back to nature.
Grounding yourself.
Great self-care.
Lots of fresh air and sunshine.
Awesome sleep.
Cons
Possibly sleeping on the ground.
Maybe not having a flushing toilet.
Bugs.
Animals.
Sweat.
City
Do you like museums?
Are you the type of person who likes to roam around city blocks to see what’s around the next corner?
Looking to find delicious local foods?
………
Then maybe a city adventure is for you!
Pros
Plenty of cultural learning
Great exercise
Opportunities to meet people
Cons
Not a lot of fresh air
…..
Let me share with you a place that I’ve lived and will definitely allow you to have a little bit of both.
New York City! Travel Inspiration
That’s right, NYC!!!!
Not only does it have some beautiful nature areas like Central Park and Coney Island Beach, but you will have access to some of the best museums and eateries in the world!
Central Park
For the outdoorsy traveler, one must is Central Park.
Is 843 acres big and includes a castle, a large beautiful fountain, a carousel, a large pond where you can rent a paddleboat and go out and enjoy the water, a zoo, a huge lawn that is 55 acres, plenty of beautiful arches to walk through, ballfields, playgrounds, a pool and so many more including 58 miles worth of trails to explore!!!
Coney Island Beach
Now, Coney Island Beach is of course on the other side of outdoorsy.
But it’s a great beach area.
Not only is there the fun boardwalk area to enjoy with plenty of shops and eateries but of course the world famous Coney Island Amusement Park.
Trust me, you will not regret taking the time to head to this beach during your NYC visit.
Museums
Now, let’s say museums and art galleries are more your thing?
Then you must check out the American Museum of Natural History.
So much to see, so much variety. You will love it!
Not only that but it’s right next to Central Park so you’ll be able to enjoy that too 🙂
If art galleries are more your thing, you’ll need to check out MoMa (The Museum of Modern Art).
You will be amazed at the collections and all the beauty you’ll see.
Restaurants
How about we talk about restaurants.
The food in NYC really was top notch.
Whether it was a little hole-in-the-wall deli or a full-fledged sit down and be served restaurant, it was hard to go wrong.
First, I would definitely suggest being brave and if you go past a little restaurant/deli to go in and grab some food.
I promise, you will not be disappointed.
And if you are you won’t have spent much money!
Then, yes, find a nice sit-down restaurant, be prepared to pay but also to fully enjoy yourself.
