Have you ever had a hard time making a decision?
Let me tell you, sometimes I am the worst at making decisions 🙁
Sometimes I’ll spend days, weeks, months, or even years (yup, I said years) debating on something.
I was living in NYC when 9/11 happened and I spent the next 7 years debating whether to stay or leave!
Needless to say, yes, living there another 7 years was deciding to stay even if I was still deciding.
Did that even make sense?
Now, of course, we don’t always have years to make decisions.
Sometimes the decision isn’t that ‘big’ that we should be taking a long time to decide anyway even though we still do sometimes, right?
So here are some quick suggestions or tips to help you make a decision.

Making a Decision
We know that are several ways to make a decision, right?
Sometimes just choosing an option and running with it is best.
Other times you should really sit down and write out a pros and cons list to figure out what to do.
And then sometimes you can use one of the three options below!
Flip a Coin
We’ve probably all done this one at some point in our life.
Take any type of coin, or object with two sides, and assign a decision for each side.
For example heads = you get pizza; tails = you get burgers.
Then whichever side lands facing up is the decision that you go with.
Now here’s an interesting thought or fact.
I have heard that if it is a bigger decision, or maybe a decision that you don’t care about that much, and you use this option before the coin lands you’ll actually have decided/ hoped for which side it’ll land on.
Basically, you already knew what you really wanted but just need to make sure!
I’ve never tried this but it makes total sense.
Quote
‘Nothing is either good or bad but thinking makes it so.’
This is one of my favorite quotes.
I recently made a decision that I was still feeling uneasy about afterward and my friend reminded me of this.
At least in terms of this decision: there are no right answers.
I responded back with a still blah feeling and she then reminded me that: there are no wrong answers either.
Lol
She’s a great friend.
It’s definitely what I needed to hear.
Sometimes nothing will sit right with you and that’s ok.
This then leads me to this next suggestion and something I’ve decided, in terms of making decisions:
No Regrets
I try to remind myself that whatever decision I made I won’t allow myself to regret it later.
That I made the most informed, thought-out decision based on what was going on, my feelings at the time, etc, and that I wouldn’t allow myself to regret it later.
I know that’s easier said than done but if you’ve done your research, prayed about it, asked people you trust, and finalized your decision then there should be no, or at least little regret later, right?
Someone I follow on Facebook once said that even if you’re only 51% sure that’s all you need.
Kinda makes sense too.
If you’re leaning more than halfway in one direction, then go with it.
We don’t always have to be 100% sure of a decision to make it!
