Laugh

If you’ve read any of my past posts you know that a while back I covered giggling.

So now you ask, why laughing?

Well, to me they are completely different. Yes, you may do both during the same time frame but do you giggle the same way you laugh?

Giggling, to me, is more subtle, softer maybe even? It is that little laugh, maybe we can call it a baby laugh. Certainly, a giggle can turn into more giggles, can turn into a giggle fest which can turn into a really good laugh. But I still feel like a giggle is a giggle while a laugh is a laugh.

And I will ask it here….

When was the last time you laughed? I mean laughed so hard you couldn’t breathe? Laughed so hard you almost wet yourself? Laughed so hard you curled up into a ball?

I know, it’s been awhile huh? Why? I ask myself that too.

I don’t consider myself a funny person and, even though there are a few jokesters in my family, they don’t live close. There don’t seem to be many reasons or opportunities to have a good laugh on a daily basis.

And that’s where this and the giggle post come in.

To try and find, to figure out and learn ways to laugh. Maybe not necessarily everyday but at least a few times a week if at all possible.

Laugh:

At the day. Was someone being so silly/stupid around you that you could’ve/should’ve laughed. If it wasn’t the right moment, kudos to you for being mature enough not too, but maybe allow yourself in private to get that laugh out.

When you want to scream – o.k., well maybe let yourself scream for a bit …and then laugh.

At situations that are out of your control. If you can’t do anything about it no reason to make yourself miserable, right? I know, easier said than done but at least for a few minutes try.

And lastly, at yourself – enjoy how silly you are. Do you even remember how silly you can be? Now of course there is time and a place to laugh but if you think you’re too old, too mature to let yourself have a good laugh you’re missing out on a wonderful, wonderful part of life.

Embrace your laugh!
