7 Easy Tips on How To Lose Weight Naturally
Move
Move just a little bit more!
Do a few squats while you’re brushing your teeth.
Try some tricep dips while working at your desk or before/after a meal.
If you have kids, while you’re on the floor do some push-ups, leg exercises, etc.
And you don’t have to go crazy, especially if you’ve never worked out before or it’s been a while.
Modify them.
Don’t squat or dip so deep, do your push-ups on your knees (I sometimes still do mine with my knees down but them also under my hips rather than behind my hips).
Do one a day if that’s all you can manage then push yourself one day to do two.
You’ll surprise yourself!!!! 🙂
Drink more water
I know you hear this one all the time but if you think about just how many calories you’re drinking it can be pretty high up there.
Try swapping out one pop or sweetened drink a day for water.
If you just can’t handle plain water then try adding some fruit or vegetables (strawberries, lemon, peaches, kiwi, cucumber) if you need to.
As time goes on, keep swapping out the rest of the sweet drinks.
Before you know it you’ll be drinking water all day and have cut out hundreds of calories.
Another tip I’ve recently been trying is to drink a glass or water bottle full of water when you wake up.
I keep a full water bottle on my bedside table and when I wake up or am ready to finally get up I drink the whole thing in one sitting.
Not only will you have had at least a portion of how much you’re supposed to drink in a day but you’ll be helping to jump-start your body.
Sleep
You’ve heard this too:
Try your best to get on a sleep schedule.
It’s not easy and I’ll be the first to tell you I’m doing a horrible job at it right now myself.
Some nights I’ll stay up until 10/11 because I’m trying to get work done but then I can’t fall asleep or settle down until 1 or 2 am.
Other nights I crash out right after my son falls asleep at like 7:30 pm!
I’m trying my hardest but as we all know it takes time.
You’ve got to find what works best for you and your schedule then work on sticking to it.
I’m hoping in the next week or two I can finally get myself scheduled 🙂
But do you know why it’s so important?
Stress!
Getting enough sleep gives not only your body but also your brain time to rest and reset for the next day.
This helps lower stress hormones, which in turn will help the body lose weight.
Get your sleep. It’ll do wonders for your health!
Rest
Along with sleep, giving yourself time throughout the day to rest and be quiet will also help lower stress levels!
Pray, meditate, or simply give yourself a moment to breathe and rest, take a nap if need be.
Reduce your sugar
Just like the drinks we talked about before, are there snacks you’re eating throughout the day that could be reduced?
How about just swapping out one of those sugary snacks a day/week with a fruit or vegetable.
Now, just remember, depending on the fruit you eat, it could have just as much sugar but it will be healthier for you because of the extra vitamins and minerals in it.
So as time goes on work on getting less sugary fruits and vegetables.
