Wild Kratts

One of his all-time, current favorite shows is Wild Kratts.

If your child hasn’t discovered this gem yet it’s worth looking into it.

Especially if they like animals even just a little bit.

They will learn so much about so many different animals.

I promise, you will be amazed!

Here are just a few options for your Wild Kratts lover:)

Try this pop ‘n’ race game:

Why not give them awesome action figures:

Help them work on their puzzling skills.

If your child loves to role play then you have to get them this outfit!

My son has been asking us to make him a Wild Kratts creature vest.

Well, this takes care of that, and it includes gloves 🙂

Building/Inventing

He also is so creative in his building.

He can sit longer and longer focused on what he has in his head.

Not only will he do this with his Legos be he’s also got this great gears set!

The set allows him to easily create new ‘inventions and ‘transformers’ every day. 🙂

Not to mention his magnets.

We’ve built buildings, castles, garages, runways, spaceships.

The possibilities are endless especially with all three of these.

A fantastic gears set to get started and grow with.

You can’t have Legos without a great starter kit!

These magnets are really the best.

They clean up easily because they attract to each other.

And they can build whatever their heart desires.

Coloring books

Before starting kindergarten this year, he never showed much interest in coloring.

But he has had to do a lot of coloring for school.

Recently he told me he really likes to color.

So, needless to say, coloring books are being pulled out. 🙂

Can’t go wrong with dinosaurs.

What kid doesn’t love animals?

How about getting interested in space?

Or maybe your little one just loves their unicorns?

Books

We are continuing to work on building his reading confidence and ability.

The Bob books have been so good for him.

You can find them at your local stores but below you’ll find links.

One great thing is the pictures don’t always show what the sentence says so they can’t just guess at the words.

They have to really look at the words and practice reading them.

Not only that, but there’s also lots of repetition of words in the short 10 (or less) page books.

Plus, the sentences are short and most of the words are only three to four letters long.

So much easier to sound out and helps the reader feel accomplished.

Check out this beginning readers book:

Sight words are an important part of learning to read.

These books will do the trick!

Rhyming words are another fantastic basic to helping your young reader.

Why not go ahead and get this whole great set!

And there you have it!

Some of the best fun but also educational toys/resources for your six year old!

Which one do you think your six or soon to be six-year-old will love? Please share it with us in the comments below! Thanks.
