Are you looking for some fun family activities that can be done inside?
I know it can feel impossible sometimes to find something to keep little ones, or even the older ones, busy and/or active when stuck indoors.
But, with just a few items you can have fun for days!

Fun Family Activities
I’m going to start with some great games that will be great staples to your fun family activities list.
Pictionary
My son, even at 5 years old, has been able to play with us adults.
He’s starting to learn how to read and it’s been great for him to look at the clues and see if he can read it and then figure out what to draw.
Granted, we do not time our turns.
I do help him out with the reading and even sometimes deciding what to draw but we let him do the rest all himself and he does awesome.
Now, they have put out a ‘specifically’ kids version which I think would be fun but don’t discount that your little ones can still participate with the ‘adult’ version!
Rumikub
This is a fun variation of the card games.
It’s a numbers game based on understanding the order of numbers and recognizing numbers and colors.
So, certainly something a 5 year old can play.
I’ll be honest, when we first started playing he wasn’t overly interested but each time we play he plays for longer and longer 🙂

Raccoon Rumpus
This is a matching game that will be a fun family activity everyone will love.
It comes with a a pair of dice with different colored clothing pictures on the sides.
You then have to find matches to those pictures to dress your raccoon.
Here’s the funny thing:
We rarely play it that way.
The cards that you dress the raccoons with have different characters, like a fisherman, a doctor, a ballerina.
My son loves to have us make up stories of how the different characters are interacting with each other.
So, it changes each time we play and it’s so great for the imagination 🙂
Puzzles
Puzzles have become such a great fun family activity for us.
My son is loving them more and more which makes this mommy so happy because I love puzzles.
Easy Fun Family Activities
Now, let’s say you don’t have any of the above mentioned games and you don’t want to spend the money on them.
Let’s talk about some games/activities you can play without having to buy anything.
War
Granted, you do need a deck of playing cards, for this game but it’s worth it.
We are a family of four and we have played it all together.
You play it exactly the same way,.
Whoever has the highest card wins that round and takes all the cards.
The one who has the most cards wins.
Snowball fight
This is the best!!!!
Get some paper and crumple it up into little balls.
Then let the snowball fight commence 🙂
My son loves it, his grandparents love it.
Imaginary play
This one’s not always easy, especially for us older kids (a.k.a. adults) but it’s worth it.
Let the little one(s) choose what to play.
We have a tendency to have play based off of one of his favorite cartoons.
If it’s not that, it’s superheroes, good guys/bad guys, monsters, or something of the like 🙂
My biggest advice, just go with it and let yourself act silly!!!
You don’t need to do something big or expensive to have lots of fun family time.
