Dignity

Do you live your life with dignity?

Wish you did?

Know someone that deserves to live with dignity?

Well, let’s look at what it means first.

∼the state or quality of being worthy of honor or respect∼

or it can be seen this way-

∼a sense of pride in oneself; self-respect∼

Now, read those question above again.

Anything change?

Examples of Dignity

∼Treating others and yourself with respect

∼Appreciating others and your own individuality

∼Understanding that everyone, in their own right, is valuable, and that’s what’s important!

How to have dignity

As the definition above mentions – having a sense of pride in oneself is how to have dignity.

And how in the world do you do that?

First, stop beating yourself up if you’re not where you want to be in life.

And I mean in every aspect! Relationships, work, location, health, weight.

I have talked to plenty of people older than be who are still trying to figure out ‘what they want to be when they grow up’!

Rarely are we ever where we want to be, but that doesn’t mean would shouldn’t appreciate where we are and try to enjoy it for what it is.

And no, that doesn’t mean you should settle! It means being upset or angry about it all the time isn’t healthy and isn’t doing you any good.

Second, think about and focus on what you are good at or what is going well in your life.

Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity – Start with yourself!

Tweet this!

Don’t think big! Think of the little things.

Does your family love a particular dish you make? Did you hear your favorite song on the radio? Make all the green lights running errands?

I know what you’re thinking, what do these things have to do with dignity?

Well, it’s all about feeling worthy of honor or respect!

YOU feeling and knowing you are worthy of honor and respect!

You deserve it, so live it!

Do you treat others with dignity? How about yourself? Please share a tip with us below in the comments so we can all learn. Thanks!

  1. Thank you this is great advise I especially love The quote Everyone Deserves Dignitiy, Start With Yourself. I do believe most people think of themselves last.

  2. I really love that you used this as a wonderful opportunity to show us to be kind to others AND ourselves. Love and self-love are truly so important for our well-being and the well-being of our world. Thank you for sharing such an important message!

  3. Love, love, love this. So true how we need to respect ourselves…once we respect ourselves others will respect you to.

  4. Great post! I definitely think the world could benefit from practicing more dignity with day to day motions. Learning to respect yourself, by only taking on what you can handle. I think Respecting others is super important as well.
