Christmas breakfast for everyone
Have you ever tried cinnamon toast?
For some crazy reason about a month ago I was craving it.
Now, besides french toast, which by the way is not the same thing, I don’t remember ever having had it unless it was the pre-made cinnamon bread you find at the store.
So how or why I was craving it, I couldn’t tell you.
Besides maybe my body was needing some mineral, etc.
The research phase
Who knows but I decided to start researching how to make the easiest cinnamon toast for our weekend breakfast.
I found a few recipes so I mentioned them to my mom, who then gave me her version.
They were different so I decided to keep researching.
This is when I finally found The One!
The ONLY Christmas breakfast you’ll ever need.
We have modified it from the original and it is just about as perfect as you can get 🙂

The Ingredients
One reason why this recipe is so awesome is because it only has a few ingredients.
And I bet you have all of them already in your pantry!
- Toast
- Sugar
- Butter
- Cinnamon
And a special ingredient…..vanilla extract 🙂
It really is the perfect cinnamon toast!
Side note: pretty much all of the ingredients can be modified for you taste.
The original version was a little too sweet for us so we changed that a bit, but the butter could be lessened and/or the cinnamon and vanilla could be increased.
Play around with it until you get the perfect version for you and your family.
And of course, enjoy each of those attempts 🙂
Can you freeze this cinnamon toast?
This is going to be something I try next time around.
I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.
Especially if you can give it time to thaw a bit the morning you’re wanting to have them.
My plan is to make a double batch of the mixture, spread it on the slices then freeze them with plastic wrap in between to keep them from getting stuck to each other.
My other thought is to just prep the butter mixture so only that needs to be thawed in the morning.
A quick spread onto the bread and then they can be popped into the oven.
I mean, it doesn’t take long anyway but every few minutes helps 🙂
The Best Cinnamon Toast Recipe
Cinnamon Toast
- 8 slices toast
- 1 stick butter ((1/2 cup))
- 1/2 cup sugar ((more if you'd like it sweeter))
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix sugar, butter, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Spread mixture among all 8 slices, making sure to go to the very edges to keep them from burning.
Place slices onto a cookie sheet or foil-lined oven racks, and place into the oven.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Then turn on the boiler and cook for another few minutes until the sugar is bubbling.
Carefully take them out of the oven and enjoy!
