Are you looking for chapter books for your young one?
My son recently turned 6.
He enjoys books, especially when I read to him 🙂
Even though we are working on him practicing his own reading, it’s so relaxing to read to him.
We have a tendency to read before our rest time in the afternoon and then before bed.
I got tired of reading short stories/books.
But also, one of his friends had gotten into the first chapter book I’m going to share with you.
She’s way ahead in her reading ability but I thought why not see if he’d like them too.
I figured, if he really likes them maybe he’ll try reading them himself.
So let’s get started.

Chapter Books
Magic Tree House
A fabulous chapter book series about Jack and Annie, siblings who are 8 and 7 respectively.
They find a magic tree house that transports them to either magical realms and/or to the past to learn and help famous figures like Charles Dickens and Leonardo da Vinci.

Alien Kid
A cute story about an alien family who’ve had to hide out on Earth.
The alien kid, 11 year old Charlie Baker, has to learn and figure out how to fit into school and a world that’s foreign to him.
Sleepers
This is the first in a three book series.
My six year old enjoyed this first one but I’ll admit, part of the story is definitely for teens.
This story is also about aliens but this time about a teenage alien, 15 year-old, who just happens to be half human.
He too, is trying to find his way through this new world.
The Wishing Stone
A young boy, who would rather play video games than read, is given a special stone.
When he’s holding the stone and reading a book, it transports him to the story.
Flat Stanley
Another cute story.
This one about a little boy who has these crazy adventure, like being flattened!
It always gets straightened out in the end but it’s fun as he’s going through it.
Stink
A fun-loving story about a boy, Stink, his sister and his family.
Just Us Kids
Unfortunately, this series only seems to have two books but we enjoyed both of them immensely.
It’s about a group of kids in different situations who get separated from their parents and have to survive for a time by themselves.
